Judges selected winning videos from a record number of outstanding entries.
The 3rd Annual Migraine Moment Short Film Contest received a record number of 50-plus submissions. Each video told a compelling story about life with migraine and conveyed the many different experiences — pain, burden, triumph and support — that life with migraine encompasses. After careful consideration, our panel of judges releases the results.
Our grand prize goes to Maria Galli for her impactful film “Invisible Hero.”
Galli writes, “This is a representation of my story with migraine and how it makes me feel I have to play the part of a superhero to try to live my life without succumbing completely to this disease that makes me feel alone, isolated and misunderstood.”
She will travel to San Francisco in late June to present her work during the American Headache Society’s 60th Annual Scientific Meeting.
Our runner-up is Lee Giat for his psychological drama “Oasis,” which tells the true story of a young man living with migraine. We’d also like to recognize our second runner-up, Bill Jeffery, for his film “Migraines Burden Everyone,” which highlights the way migraine affects both the people who live with it and everyone around them.
Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone for participating in our contest and sharing your migraine story.
