Deborah Henscheid Lorenz is an intellectual property lawyer at Lorenz & Kopf, LLP, and also a long-time migraineur. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bioengineering, a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, and a Juris Doctorate degree. As an executive committee member with both the American Migraine Foundation and the International Headache Society Global Patient Advocacy Coalition (IHS|GPAC) she serves as a patient advocate, and sees these organizations as avenues where voices like hers can collectively educate the public that migraine is a painful disease and not just a headache. Through advocacy, she hopes migraine will be recognized as a legitimate disease worthy of significant research funds and employer accommodation. Her ultimate goal is to help advocate for advanced treatment options that prevent migraine from occurring, without objectionable side effects.
